How it Started

For the first part of my working life, I did hard labor—oil workover rigs, framing, concrete, HVAC, and commercial construction. I was out in the field every day, working with my hands. I liked the problem solving and the satisfaction of standing back at the end of the day and seeing something solid and useful that didn’t exist before.

Eventually the world convinced me I should want a “nice” desk job, and I gave it a try. I moved into corporate America, specifically tech sales. For more than a decade, I sat in offices and conference rooms sending emails and burning up phone lines. I learned how to communicate clearly, listen, and take care of clients. I picked up real-world skills—professionalism, organization, customer service, clear expectations, and follow-through. But I also realized something else: the corporate world wasn’t where I belonged. It was draining. I hated being stuck inside, behind a desk, watching everyone—including myself—slowly waste away in front of a computer screen.

I wanted to build again. I wanted to work with my hands, help people improve their homes, and create something real. So I started Allred Customs—a place where craftsmanship, communication, and customer service come together. This isn’t a backup plan; it’s the work I should have been doing all along.

My goal is simple: set a higher standard in residential work by pairing solid craftsmanship with the customer service and communication homeowners deserve. I get to work with my hands, help people improve the way they live, and build things that actually matter.

And I wouldn’t trade that for anything. But I also wouldn’t turn down a bag of gold and a remote cabin in the mountains.
